why was your GRANDMOTHER having a tummy tuck? anyway, i''m sorry for your loss. you need to PROVE that the tummy tuck led to the stroke. elderly people have strokes. why was she taking blood thinners? why did she still have a catheter in? before she left the hospital, she should have been peeing on her own. what doctor does a tummy tuck on an elderly woman?

You would have to talk to a medical malpractice lawyer. But honestly, from what you describe, it doesn't sound like it. One of the listed possible outcomes of any type of abdominal surgery is blood clots that can lead to strokes, heart attacks, or pulmonary embolism. This is a risk you take and should and more than likely was discussed with her before she signed her consent and would have been listed on her surgical consent. That being said, as long as she signed a legal informed consent, you really don't have a case that I can see.
